The Spitfire kits are based on the superb work of Monfortonpress, Paul Monforton officially agreed on designing the planset and kit based on his book and will participate with a license. It’s certainly the best book to find on the spitfire. If you’re looking for every tiny detail, rivet or if you are simply interested in investigating one of the most beautiful fighter aircraft, get your hardcopy. It’s worth any cent and even more in my opinion.

Kit development

After Paul Monforton had agreed on working with his ordinates, I thought this would make it a lot easier and faster when designing the kit. It was the opposite: his sources are so good and precise, that it took a lot longer to design this spitfire. Since I don’t work constantly and not 8 hours a day on my kits, announcing the design time would make no sense. But it took hundreds of hours to design this truely scale Spitfire Mark IXc. Especially the wing design and inner flaps work took weeks and several approaches. I am really happy and proud of the result.

The 1/4th enlargement will happen, sometimes in the future.
